New Hope Center for Children and Handicapped is established on December 18th, 2000 and is registered under the Ethiopian law as indigenous or local organization under Number 0003. It has signed an operational agreement with regional government Oromia National Regional state, which is one of the ninth federal regional states of Ethiopia.
It has established orphanages and schools on two places namely Guder and Legedadi.
Guder is found 125 kilometer to the west of Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia while Legedadi is found 25 kilometer to the north east of Addis Ababa.
The management practices of leading and administering different interventions of the organization is governed by the General Assembly that elects Board of Directors who are responsible for the General Assembly policy and strategic matters.
The General Assembly is the highest decision making body while the executive board controls every activity of the organization and the financial transaction.
Organizational development, partnership, resource mobilization, public and external relation, capacity building, leadership and operational management issues are spearheaded by the Founder and Executive Director (ED) who is answerable to the Board of Directors. Program directors/coordinators and project management officers, answerable to the ED, are responsible for technical, tactical and operational matters of activities executed at the Headquarters(Addis Ababa) and project site/ office.
NHCH has a commendable management practice of mobilizing and utilizing international volunteers from different countries. The volunteers are engaged in technical and professional activities during their visit and stay at the HQ and the project sites.
